Maeyes Foundation was founded in June 2024 by Dr. Arundhati Tamuli Handique, along with Dr. Abhijit Kumar Handique and Dr. Rajendra Nath Gogoi. Both of whom have been associated with the Government Medical College & Hospital as post graduates teacher for almost three decades. Built on years of dedicated service and a shared commitment to community care, the foundation was created to serve those who are most in need of accessible eye care.
Dr. Arundhati Tamuli’s 13 years of experience at a charitable hospital shaped the vision of the foundation. Having seen countless people struggle with avoidable blindness and other eye conditions, she was inspired to create a place where poor and underprivileged patients could receive compassionate treatment for refractive errors, cataract, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and other common ailments.
"For us, the greatest reward is not only restoring sight, but also restoring hope. There is nothing more moving than seeing a patient arrive with no vision and limited support, and then leave after surgery with a smile. That smile gives Maeyes Foundation its deepest purpose."
